Wrap Up for 2010

As we approach the end of another year, the GreatSoft Team thank you for all your support and welcome new clients to our family. 2010 gave our country a burst of confidence with the successful hosting of the World Cup.

At GreatSoft, we have also been very busy extending the footprint of our Web Solutions for Practice Management and successfully launched TaskCentre and e-Docs to improve Practice Automation.

We await the publication of the amended regulations and forms for the new Companies Act and expect to be ready to deliver the new forms when the Act is implemented in April 2011.

PROVISIONAL TAX / EFILING UPDATE
Although we have not sent out any news about Provisional Tax and e-Filing after August this year we have pursued a number of initiatives to improve and streamline the provisional tax submission procedures and deal with the interface issues handled in August.

This included discussions with Accfin, CQS and various practitioner bodies. From our discussions it appeared that the vendors undertook the major responsibility for communicating and training firms on the changes to the procedures implemented by SARS for the the August 2010 P1 provisional taxes. Often this even extended to assisting with interpreting and clarifying tax matters relating to the provisional tax rules.

SARS e-Filing have arranged a meeting for 18 November 2010 after a number of requests by GreatSoft and the other vendors. Hopefully we will be able to review the August 2010 provisional tax run. At this time we have not had any communication from SARS to indicate if any changes are proposed for the procedures for February 2011 second period.

Firms continue to use the new e-Filing interface and successfully submitted registrations and company provisional tax returns for P1 and P2 returns due for September and October. For the February 2011 provisional tax run we will communicate news in a similar manner to the August Provisional Tax run and will send out emails when the need arises.

Greatsoft believes in giving and getting involved in our community.

Recently our Cape Town team took some time out to visit the Linawo Children's Home in Pinelands. The Children at this home range from the age of 3 to 15.

Our team donated sports equipment and helped out with some much needed chores.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support and we wish you and your families well over the festive season and we hope you have a safe and prosperous Christmas and New Year.

Look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
